About Pekaki
Pekaki is a Nottingham-based voice-over and voice acting studio. We have spent fourteen years turning scripts into recordings that people actually listen to, remember, and act on.
How we started
Pekaki was set up in 2012 by a small group of audio engineers and voice performers working out of a rented room near Castle Boulevard. The original idea was simple: local businesses needed narration, adverts and phone messages recorded properly, without sending the job to a studio in another city and waiting weeks for a file back. That basic need still shapes what we do. Over time the team grew from a handful of people to 23, and the studio moved into a proper facility with treated rooms and consistent monitoring, but the day-to-day work stayed close to the original brief: read the script, understand what it needs to do, record it well.
Mission and outlook
Our job is to make spoken content sound intentional, not accidental. That applies whether it's a two-minute training video, a set of IVR prompts, or a character read for an independent game project. We are not trying to be the biggest voice agency in the country; we are trying to be a dependable one, based in Nottingham, that answers requests quickly and delivers files that need no rework. Across 8,018 completed jobs and 4,186 clients served, roughly a quarter have come back for a second project, which we take as a more honest signal than any star rating.
